Wednesday 7th. The Belgian Village on the Thames. A walk in East Twickenham led by local resident and Chair of the East Twickenham Centennial Group, Helen Baker, who organised celebrations for the 100th anniversary of the establishment of a large Belgian refugee community in the area during the Great War centred on the Pelabon Munitions Works on the riverside between Warren Gardens and Clevedon Road; returning via The Green to either The Prince’s Head or The Britannia. Meet at Richmond Station by 7.30pm or take a bus to the first stop over Richmond Bridge and meet by the telephone kiosk close to the corner of Cambridge Road by 7.45pm. A donation of £2 is requested towards Richmond Society’s Landscaping Fund. Event organised by the Richmond Society.


Wednesday 5th. Twickenham's Riverside. A walk between Wharf Lane and Sion Road, and between Church Street and Embankment, including the site of the controversial Twickenham Riverside proposals, and a possible visit to John James’ elegant 18th century Parish Church of St Mary-the-Virgin; returning via The Riverside to The White Swan. Meet at Richmond Station by 7.30pm or take a bus to York House in Richmond Road and meet at the gates by 7.45pm. A donation of £2 is requested towards Richmond Society’s Landscaping Fund. Event organised by the Richmond Society.


Sunday 20th. Picnic by the river on the grass at Buccleuch Gardens. From 1pm. As per the link below, there are public amenities at the site. High tide is predicted to be around 3:30pm. This event is dependent on the weather, so please keep an eye out for updates nearer the time.

Central Tideway and Estuary Branch

Thursday 6th. Leigh-on-Sea, trip on The Endeavour, a Dunkirk "little ship" (donations will be accepted on board), followed by lunch in the old town. Meet at Leigh-on-Sea station at 11am. Please book with Pat Gaskell on 01702 473573.

Thursday 10th. Boat trip on Thames Clipper to see Tideway Tunnel sites along the river. Meet at Westminster Pier at 2pm. Nearest station Westminster. Trip will take about 2 hours, no charge, booking essential. Please contact Jacqui.

Thursday 14th.
Meet at 10.45 for 11am start at Trinity Buoy Wharf, 64 Orchard Place, E14 0JY, for guided tour at £10 per head, followed by lunch at the Bow Creek Cafe. Optional trip to the O2 peninsula in the afternoon, via the Predator ferry or the Emirates Cable Car. Jubilee line to Canning Town, DLR to East India or 277 bus.
